Who We Are
Our products were initially created to assist the owner in finding a product that could assist her in her battle with anemia that caused excessive shedding of her hair caused by the inability to retain sufficient iron levels. As well as help her granddaughter who suffers with eczema. She wanted something that was natural, and plant based and that wasn’t overpowering with perfumes so with her years of working in healthcare and trying out expensive products that clearly didn’t work for her, she set out to create something that did work.
The word AMANDLA has several meanings all that are amazing & uplifting to Black people & is one of the reasons it was chosen to be our Brand’s name. But the one meaning that was perfect for our products was the meaning of Power. The name Amandla is primarily a female name of African - Zulu/Xhosa origin that means Power. While our product was made to help all races, shades of skin, types and grades of hair, men, and women, we chose this word as our brand name as a symbolism to remind men and women of color that they are unique, strong, powerful, and most of all beautiful in every way possible. In creating our products, we take an herbal holistic approach in which our ancestors did in caring for their hair and skin. Allow us to share with you these beautiful natural methods.
